Missouri State History with Study Skills is being developed to assist middle school aged students with learning how to approach assignments, take notes, and retain information while learning about the state of Missouri!
The Department of Education for the state of Missouri requires school districts to teach a history of Missouri before high school graduation. The requirement can be fulfilled as young as 7th grade. This course fulfills the State history requirement.
For approximately the first 10 weeks of the semester we will explore different study skills. For this portion of the semester the only materials your kids will need are a 3-ring binder & a set of 10- tab dividers, available here: http://a.co/d/5976wxw (or 2 sets of 5-tab dividers). I will be distributing handouts weekly of every study skill or technique we learn.
For the rest of the year we will be applying the study skills learned as we learn about Missouri State History. We will be working through Missouri State History from a Christian Perspective by Joy Dean, and every student will need a copy of the Student Booklet. These are available at www.lampposthomeschool.com or at www.statehistory.net. Or you could bring $18 to the first day of class & I would be happy to order one for you (we have time since we will not start using this until November).
